Reviving The Irish Corporate Gifting Industry

Updated: Apr 26

I intend to begin on a modest scale; it's the only feasible approach for me. Nevertheless, I am determined to create an impact when it comes to the Irish corporate gifting industry.

Upon researching the top online gift companies, they do claim to support local communities and prioritise purchasing Irish products. Without delving too deeply into this, it all appears promising to the buyer. Many gift companies prominently feature well-established brands, including Irish ones that already have a global audience.

The corporate gifting industry generates billions annually, much of which goes to already highly successful brands saturating our supermarkets, e-commerce and stores. While I do appreciate the rationale behind their preference to use well known brands for perceived quality, brand recognition, and reliability, I can't help but feel it lacks a touch of imagination. These products are available everywhere!

There is an undeniable beauty in handmade products. Craft businesses produce one-of-a-kind items that cannot be found elsewhere. By supporting these businesses, you gain access to unique and original products. The success of our local markets is a testament to how much our community values and embraces craft businesses. This is Eden's proposition for Corporate Gifting. Corporate Gifts should be promoting local small businesses.

Corporate gifting can be personalised, and by choosing Eden, that's precisely what you'll get. We don't operate from a warehouse; instead, we have a charming store filled with carefully curated items, elegantly packaged in custom-made boxes, tailored specifically for the recipient.

The primary question now revolves around the choice between quality and quantity: mass-produced or imported items versus one-of-a-kind handcrafted products. This is the challenge I aim to overcome. Competing with the purchasing power of these online gift companies on behalf of the wonderful entrepreneurs I stock will indeed be challenging. However when it comes to price challenges, if it doesn't work for them, it won't work me and we move on.

I understand the challenges that come with running a small business and gaining traction and visibility. If I could potentially expand my corporate business and bring these creators along for the journey, it would truly be a dream come true.

Thank you for reading my third blog.

And of course, if you're interested in learning more about our corporate gifting proposition, which I am very passionate about and eager to showcase our wonderful creators, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
