Learning Tarot: A Long-Overdue Investment

Delving into tarot has been a long-overdue chapter in my life—one that feels less like learning something new and more like remembering something ancient.
On my mother’s side of the family, there’s a deep thread of spiritual connection that runs through the generations. Several of my relatives have had the gift of connecting with what many call “the other side.” I’ve always known this myself, even as a child. My grandmother and especially her sister, Aunty May, held a quiet wisdom—what I now understand to be the mark of an old soul. They were deeply spiritual women, the kind who didn’t need to speak much for you to feel their knowing. Although Aunty May has been passed for many years now, she still makes her presence known to members of our family in ways that are gentle, unmistakable, and comforting and especially in time of need.
I turned to tarot well before I ever imagined closing my store or stepping more fully into the wellness space. It began about five or six months ago—just a whisper of curiosity that quickly deepened into something more meaningful. I didn’t expect it to be as hard as it is. Tarot has layers—symbolism, tradition, history—and yet, at its core, it demands intuition. Thankfully, intuition is something I’ve always had. I’ve learned over the years to trust the nudges, the signs, the quiet voice within me that often knows before my mind does.

As I started to explore the cards, I noticed something strange and beautiful: the same cards kept showing up. Over and over. In one session, I pulled the exact same two cards in the same sequence after shuffling thoroughly. Statistically, the odds of that happening are about 1 in 36 million. That moment stopped me in my tracks. Another time, I kept pulling the 10 of Pentacles—four or five times in a row. That’s not coincidence. That’s guidance.

Learning tarot feels like stepping into an ancient conversation that’s been waiting for me. It’s not just about predicting the future—it’s about understanding myself, my energy, and the messages around me. And as I continue this journey, I’m reminded that the cards don’t just speak—they listen, too.
Alongside tarot, I’ve also started using an amethyst pendulum—and its accuracy has been incredible. For simple yes/no questions, it has offered clear, intuitive answers that, over time, have proven themselves to be right. It’s become another trusted tool in this expanding spiritual practice, one that feels deeply aligned with who I am and where I’m headed.

I’ve always connected easily with people—it’s something that’s just been natural for me. And as I continue to learn and grow in this space, my hope is that I’ll be able to offer tarot readings for others, combining my intuitive gifts with my ability to hold space. This isn’t just a new chapter in my life—it’s a calling. One that I’m finally ready to step into.
This is just the beginning. I’ll be sharing more about my journey—what I’m learning, what I’m feeling, and how tarot is becoming a part of my daily life and spiritual practice.
